Rebolt coach Marlon White quits after two seasons with the Trojans

Jacksonville, Florida. Rebow is looking for a new football coach after his split from Marlon White, who quit Friday after two seasons with the Trojans.

White was 4-16 in his two seasons with the Trojans, although two of those wins came in the 2020 state playoffs. Ribault struggled offensively during his 1-9 season this year, scoring eight points or fewer in seven games. He opened the year with a 16-7 loss to Creekside at WW Gay Mechanical Contractors Inc. Bold City Showcase. White confirmed his resignation late Sunday night.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to train a large group of young people. Rebuilding the program is a process. Unfortunately, time has been cut short,” White said.

“Last year, we reached third place [round] From the state playoffs, he raised the team’s average from 2.21 to 2.86. The average number of children in freshman classes was over 30 children and 35 new students returned. The future is bright, and I wish them every success.”

White came during a transitional period for the Trojans. Kelvin Smith was abruptly dismissed from the position before the start of the 2019 regular season and the program appointed Lynne Shell’s assistant coach as interim coach. Shell led Rebolt into the 4-5 season in 2019 and was not kept.

Ribolt moved out of the area to hire White, a South Carolina native who spent time in the Air Force and worked the bulk of his career training on layovers in North Carolina.

White said at the time that rebuilding a program that lost so many strong players to graduate and move on would take at least three years.

Ribault is the second Gateway Conference school to look for a new coach. Mandarin parted with Bobby Ramsey last Thursday. Ramsey was the 2018 state coach, the same year he won the Class 8A state championship.
