Magic Rally is late, beat the Knicks 104-98 to stop a 3-match slip

New York – Cole Anthony had 15 points and 10 rebounds, Mo Bamba added 12 points and 11 boards, and the Orlando Magic recovered late in the fourth quarter to defeat the New York Knicks 104-98 Wednesday night.

Terence Ross scored 19 points from the bench, and newbie Galen Suggs added 13 points for the Magic, who ended a three-game losing streak.

RJ Barrett scored 17 points and Mitchell Robinson 13 points and 11 rebounds for New York, which lost four points out of six.

And Orlando (4-11) appeared on his way to another loss after advancing by nine points in the last quarter.

New York fell 84-82 before running an 8-0 capping run with three straight throws by Alec Borks and Obi Tobin to advance 89-84 with 6:33 left.

The Knicks extended it to 96-95 on Barrett’s throw before Franz Wagner led 7-0 with a three-point play and Anthony followed with a pair of free throws before Suggs stole Derek Rose’s foul pass and fired Wendell Carter Jr. It’s 102-96 with 29 seconds left.

After Barrett’s soccer throw, Anthony throws two free throws to close him.

Magic: Ross became the fourth active player in the NBA to top 5,000 points as a reserve, joining Lou Williams of Atlanta, Patty Mills of Brooklyn and Jordan Clarkson of Utah.

Knicks: Nerleans Noel (twisted right knee) backup center suspended.
