LeBron draws blood on Stewart’s face in the Pistons Lakers brawl
Detroit – LeBron James was kicked out of the Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons bout after blood was drawn on Isiah Stewart’s face when they stumbled while boxing to make a recovery Sunday night.
James’ elbow and left hand seemed to touch Stewart over the neck, Send him into a state of bloody rage. The Detroit center had to be hampered more than once, which left him estranged from the NBA star.
Stewart was also kicked out of the match early in the third quarter. Lakers guard Russell Westbrook has been assessed as technical after officials reviewed the play and its repercussions.
James was escorted off the floor and nothing was thrown at him by the fans as he walked towards the team’s locker room.
A mug was thrown from the stands in suburban Detroit on the infamous night of November 19, 2004, causing perhaps the worst brawl in American sports history when a brawl broke out with the Pistons and Indiana Pacers in the stands. During Sunday’s game against the Lakers, former Pistons Ben Wallace and Rip Hamilton were close to the last brawl because they had seats on the field.
Stewart’s face was covered in blood after he and James were trying to get a center back from a free throw. James appeared to have tried to apologize to Stewart while he was lying on the field, but the 20-year-old quarterback tried to charge the 36-year-old forward.
Stewart broke free more than once and seemed to be running in a tunnel that would likely provide a path toward the Lakers seat.
Earlier this season, Stewart confronted former teammate Blake Griffin of the Brooklyn Nets after they tripped during a game.
