Garoppolo throws 2 more TDs, 49ers dominate Jaguars 30-10

Jacksonville, Florida. Jimmy Garoppolo threw two touchdown passes for the third week in a row, and the San Francisco 49ers dominated Jacksonville 30-3 on Sunday to claim their third win in four games.

After kicking off their best game of the season – a stunning 31-10 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night – the 49ers (5-5) traveled across the suburbs in a short week and looked like a contender in the playoff for the second time in six days.

They scored on their first five possessions, including opening the game with a 20-game field record that lasted over 13 minutes, and set the tone for what would be another long day for Jaguars (2-8).

San Francisco did 33 of its first 37 games in the game and saw more first touchdowns (14) than Jacksonville had yards (12) in the middle of the second quarter.

Garoppolo completed 16 of 22 passes for 176 yards. He reached out to Brandon Aiyuk and George Keitel to get scores. TD was third for Kittle in as many weeks. Deebo Samuel ran eight times for 79 yards and touchdowns.

The Niners were equally brave on the other side of the ball, firing Trevor Lawrence three times, stuffing James Robinson, and not letting in until the remaining 3:09.

The Jaguars have now lost 14 consecutive games against NFC teams, a slide dating back to the 2018 season. They’ve fallen to 7-44 in their last 15 games against the other Conference.

Captain Chaos

Jaguar safety Rayshon Jenkins, one of the team’s six captains, would have forgotten about one day.

Jenkins was fired in the second quarter for throwing a punch toward 49ers future Jauan Jennings, who took off his helmet during the exchange. The two started pushing each other after the third run down which lost yards. Jenkins threw a punch that made him instantly disqualified.

This was Jenkins’ second mistake in the game. He was reported for persisting in the third and fifth play which ended with a sack. The Niners got a fresh set of slips and went on to score a field goal to rule 20 games and 87 yards which lasted just over 13 minutes.
