Former NFL player Zack Stacy accused of attacking the former
Orlando, Florida. Zack Stacy, who returned to the former NFL, has been arrested after the mother of his child showed investigators a video of him attacking her at her Central Florida home, authorities said.
Stacy was arrested Thursday evening at Orlando International Airport after arriving on a flight from Nashville, Tennessee, according to an Orlando police statement. He was wanted under an aggravated arrest warrant in a domestic violence case from the town of Oakland, west of Orlando.
Oakland police responded to the home of Stacy’s ex-girlfriend on November 13, according to the memo. The woman told the officers that Stacey had been home earlier to see their 5-month-old son. At one point, Stacey and the woman started arguing, which resulted in Stacey physically attacking the woman, police said.
Police said a security video from inside the home showed Stacey hitting the woman multiple times and throwing her on the TV and on the floor. Investigators noted in the report that the woman tried to remain calm throughout the attack but pleaded with Stacey to stop. The case drew attention this week after the woman posted the security video on her Instagram account.
A judge on Friday set Stacy’s bail of $10,150 on felony aggravated battery and criminal corruption charges.
Stacy was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the 2013 NFL Draft. He played there two seasons followed by one season with the New York Jets.
Stacey’s attorney did not immediately respond to a letter seeking comment from The Associated Press.
