Booker, Suns extend their winning streak to 15, beat Knicks 118-97
New York Devin Booker scored 32 points as the Phoenix Suns beat the New York Knicks 118-97 on Friday night for their 15th straight win, matching the second longest winning streak in franchise history.
Chris Paul scored 14 points and 10 assists for the Suns, who improved to 16-3. The Western Conference champions will attempt to end a perfect four-game run on Saturday in a showdown with Brooklyn’s leading team in the East.
Phoenix also won 15 in a row during the 2006-07 season. The Suns won Top 17 franchises in a row later that season.
Deandre Ayton finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Booker was 14-for-27 from the field, and made four three-pointers. He did not attempt a free throw.
The Suns had to work hard for victories in San Antonio and Cleveland to start the journey, but they were in control for most of the way in Madison Square Garden. They’ve been ahead in the last three quarters and are up by 24 points.
Kemba Walker scored 17 points for the Knicks, who have lost seven consecutive games to Phoenix, since winning twice during the 2017-2018 season.
Booker scored 21 points over the first two quarters for The Suns, who shot 24 to 45 (53%) to lead 57-44 in the first half.
The All-Star guard took an 8-2 lead in the middle of the second quarter and headed with an open Mikal Bridges versus immersion that extended the lead to 48-34 with 4 minutes remaining in the second quarter.
And when Walker closed the gap to 67-57 with 7:31 remaining in third, Booker hit Blore’s 17-foot and triple-pointer within a minute to extend Sun’s advantage to 72-57.

Suns: Stay in New York and visit Brooklyn on Saturday.
Knicks: Visit the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. It’s the first meeting between the two teams since Game 5 of the playoffs last season when the Hawks beat the Knicks.
