49 players win their first home game in over a year, 31-10 over the Rams
Santa Clara, California. Jimmy Garoppolo threw touchdown passes, Jimmy Ward returned one of his first-quarter interceptions for another score and the San Francisco 49ers of the Los Angeles Rams won 31-10 Monday night for their first home win in over a year.
The Niners (4-5) had lost four of their five matches and were in danger of falling out of the knockout race before they put in a full performance against the Rams (7-3). San Francisco won five times in a row against Los Angeles.
Garoppolo threw TD passes to George Kittel and Debo Samuel, and Samuel also ran for a score and Ward made big plays defensively to give San Francisco their second home win in the past two seasons. The other also came against the Rams on October 18, 2020.
The Niners sealed the match when Garoppolo tied the 40-yard TD to Samuel in fourth and sixth positions early in the fourth quarter making it 31-7.
Garoppolo finished 15 for 19 for 182 yards and two TDs.
The Rams lost for the second week in a row as Matthew Stafford once again threw two interceptions, one of which came back for relegation.
Los Angeles struggled to get into any offensive tempo in the first game after receiver Robert Woods sustained a knee injury at the end of the season last week in practice.
Odell Beckham Jr. appeared. He debuted in Los Angeles after signing last week but only had two cuts for 18 yards.
Recently acquired edge climber Von Miller also made his debut for the Rams and played three tackles but didn’t put pressure on Garoppolo.
Stafford went 26 for 41 for 243 yards with one TD, two interceptions and almost a third of that K’Waun Williams Trapped on his ass Just in order to erase it from the pen.
