The family is still searching for answers after Jacksonville’s father was murdered on Father’s Day last year
Jacksonville, Florida. A local family continues their call for justice.
On Thanksgiving Day, loved ones gather to remember 44-year-old Carlos Jones in Lackawana.
He was murdered last year on Father’s Day and no one has been arrested yet.
Jones was shot and killed inside the University Place apartment complex in June of 2020.
What led to the shooting is still unclear and as of now, the police have not been able to arrest the case, let alone identify the suspect.
His family said Thursday that it was the second Thanksgiving holiday in a row they had gathered without him.
His daughter Tonisha said that until her father’s killer is caught, the family will never close.
They hope that someone has information that can help the police track down the suspect.
“If anyone has information about my father’s death, we have a reward of $5,000, so if you apply, the reward will be given to you. We want peace. We want the conclusion. This is the second year my father has not come with us on Thanksgiving,” said Tonesha Jones. And I know others have lost loved ones, too.”
Police say the gunman who killed Jones escaped in a car, but no one was able to give police a description of the car.
