Senator Annette Tadeo announces her candidacy for governor

Florida Senator Annette Tadeo ran for governor.

Taddeo made the announcement Monday morning in a video posted on Vimeo.

Tadeo, a Democrat, is the only Hispanic candidate currently running for the position.

“I believe we can inspire the people of Florida to raise their horizons and elect a governor who represents all of Florida. Pero solo es posible si todos creemos,” Tadeo said. “I’m a lifelong Democrat and I’m running for governor because Florida, I believe in us. In our fighting spirit, there’s no limit to how high or how far we fly.”

Charlie Crist and Nikki Freed made the following statements after Taddeo’s announcement.

“I know and respect Annette Tadeo. We share a common goal of moving Florida away from the negative and divisive policies that harm our state today under the failed leadership of Governor DeSantis. We, like most Florida residents, know that we can and must do better. Time and time again. Annette has stood up for her community, which is why I asked her to be the deputy governor in 2014. Annette will bring important spirit, heart and perspective to this race.”

Charlie Crest

“I entered this race because Florida needs new leaders who are accountable only to the people of Florida, not to the special interests that have dominated Tallahassee for decades. As the state-elected Democrat, I welcome Senator Tadeo to this race, but I am confident that our team and our vision for something new For Florida they are going to win these primary and general elections.”
