Police say a Southwest Airlines employee was hospitalized after being punched by a passenger

Dallas Police say they have arrested a woman after punching a Southwest Airlines employee while boarding a flight from Dallas Airport.

Dallas police said Ariel Jane Jackson, 32, was arrested Saturday afternoon in Love Field. Police said Jackson was charged with aggravated assault.

Southwest Airlines spokesman Chris Maines said the accident occurred while boarding a flight from Dallas to LaGuardia Airport in New York.

Police said Jackson initially had an altercation with an operations agent in the back of the plane and was told to leave. Police said that while Jackson was out, she had another verbal altercation with another operations agent that turned physical, in which Jackson hit the agent on the head with a closed fist, police said.

Maines said the operating agent, a woman, was taken to the hospital and released Saturday night.

Jackson was in the Dallas County Jail on Sunday for a $10,000 bond. Prison records did not mention a lawyer for her.
