Parkland shooting families won a settlement

FORT Lauderdale, Florida (AP) – Families of those killed, injured and injured in the 2018 Florida High School massacre have reached a $25 million settlement with the district. More than 50 families from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland will split the funds from the Broward County School District. The families of the 17 dead will receive the largest shares. 16 out of 17 injured and 19 people who suffered from severe mental disorders will receive payments. The families’ lawyer described the settlement as “fair and wonderful.” The school district had no immediate comment. She won a state Supreme Court ruling that could have set her damages at $300,000.
